Designed the GUESS Accessories Spring 2016 Catalog. These catalogs were one of the most high-end projects given to a designer working at GUESS. Not only was it my responsibility to actually design the catalog, but it was also my responsibility to manage the printing process.
The process of creating a catalog is a very long and complicated. Once the campaign images are shot, chosen and edited, all with the approval from the Creative Director: Paul Marciano, I lay out the chosen campaign images that seem the best fit with each other.
Once I get a general feel of the layout, I look at the style and mood of the images: neutraul colors, pops of spring colors. These led to create the floral designs. I wanted the flowers to look organic which is why I watercolored them and placed them with the images that I saw best fit.
I have multiple meetings with the Creative Director to get the approval of drafts that I create and once I get the ok from both the Creative Director and my Department Heads, it's off to the printing press. From there, I work with the printers (whoever we quote with) and we make sure that the color tones of the prints are at it's best quality.
We printed 30,000 copies of the catalog that are not only distributed internally at the headquarters of GUESS but throughout all of the Guess Accessories stores in the U.S and Europe.
